Rackspace Q1 Beats Ests, But Stock Sinks In After Hours Trade

Rackspace Hosting (RAX) posted Q1 revenue of $178.8 million, and profits of 8 cents a share, edging Street estimates of $177.7 million and 7 cents. Revenue was up 5.5% sequentially and 23.2% from a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA was $59.4 million, up 6.1% sequentially and 31.8% from a year ago.

The hosting company said headcount was 2,905 at quarter end, up from 2,774 one quarter earlier.

RAX in late trading is off 72 cents, or 3.8%, to $18.43; the stock rose $1.20, or 6.7%, in the regular session.
